Bus operator teams up with Huddersfield Town on Good Friday to support goal of sustainability with pre-match travel deal for fans

First West Yorkshire has partnered with Huddersfield Town FC to give fans a mouth-watering pre-match offer for its Good Friday clash with QPR.

Fans travelling to the John Smith’s Stadium by bus will be able to use their ticket for £2 off a wide selection of food and drink in the Deliveree Street Food Zone prior to kick-off.

The travel deal is being trialled for the remaining home matches this season to encourage fans to lower their carbon footprint and support sustainability goals of First Bus and the football club.

Ross Johnstone, Commercial Manager of First West Yorkshire, said: “ “We’re delighted to build on our partnership with the club and hope many fans heading for today's game will see the value in taking the bus - for the cost of travel, the offer they can enjoy today and helping reduce traffic congestion and emissions in the town.

"We want to do more to connect local people to the club they love and will be at the heart of the matchday experience as fans travel to see the players in action.”

A number of First Huddersfield bus services stop on streets close to Stadium Way, leaving a short walk to the ground.

The Deliveree Street Food Zone has proved a big hit with fans and is the perfect way to start match day. Covered by a marquee, fans can enjoy a pre-match meal while soaking in the atmosphere ahead of the game and getting in the mood for kick-off.

With top-quality vendors in attendance alongside regulars Magic Rock brewery and Coffee Punks, you can find the Deliveree Street Food Zone in the car park outside the John Smith’s Stadium, opening at 3:15pm right up until kick-off at 17:30pm.
